Missions

"...you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." - Acts 1:8

misje_oldSince its beginning, the Church has had a missionary dimension. The Good News of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God and His redeeming death on the cross was to reach the farthest and most remote parts of the world – carrying the torch of truth and hope, bringing life to fossilized structures and transforming human life. We “inherited” this task from previous generations. We are to carry it out and pass on to our successors. This is an extremely difficult challenge which calls for responsibility. That is why we have not been left alone to our own devices. The Holy Spirit assists us in proclaiming the Gospel. God is calling people willing to leave behind their present homes and professional career to become involved in various forms of missionary activity. For some, this means going to a foreign field, for others it is connected with becoming involved in the work of a mission or foundation administering material or spiritual aid to people in need.

True to the command of Jesus, who said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Mathew 28:18-20), we support missionaries affiliated with our local church. These are:
